Congratulations to the medal winners and to all of our fencers who participated in the Regional Youth Circuit in Las Vegas this weekend. It was a great fencing experience for everyone. Here are our fencers results: Y10 Women's sabre: Mary 1st and Francesca 3rd. Y10 Men's sabre: Zachary 2nd, Nicholas and Johan tied for 3rd, Petey 5th. Y12 Women's sabre: Mary 1st, Kyla and Francesca tied for 3rd, Hanna 5th, and Mackenna 6th. Y12 Men's sabre: Jayson 2nd, Roozbeh 3rd, Ethan 7th, Niall 8th, Joshua 9th, Kyle 10th and Zachary 12th. Y14 Women's sabre: Mary 2nd, Kyla and Hanna tied for 3rd and Mackenna 5th. Y14 Men's sabre: Scott 2nd and Ethan 5th.

At the OC Division Open on Sunday, Spencer Mermelstein won the bronze medal and renewed his D09 rating! Jeff finished 6th, Albert 8th (and renewed his E09 rating!), Spencer D. 9th, Rohit 13th, Natalie 17th and Scott 19rd. Congratulations to all of you! Complete results are posted here. |

SoCal Youth Challenge Tournament at LFC draws record number of fencers! |

On Sunday, Oct 4th, Laguna Fencing Center hosted the first sabre event of the Southern California Youth Challenge circuit for the 2009-2010 season. We had a record number of fencers participating who enjoyed plenty of fencing and had lots of fun. Our fencers fenced very well and won a total of 5 medals. Congratulations to the medal winners and to all our fencers who participated in the tournament! Youth 10 Mixed Sabre: Mary Barnett - gold, Francesca Fedorovsky - bronze. Youth 12 Mixed Sabre: Mary Barnett - bronze Youth 14 Mixed Sabre: Rohit Kolar and Mary Barnett tied for bronze. The full results are now posted on AskFred and on SoCal Youth Challenge website. 
We also want to thank all our guest athlets from fencing clubs across Southern California who came to participate, all parents who came to help running a smooth event, as well as our older fencers who came and helped with the refereeing. Thanks again, everyone! |

Some of our young fencers participated in the Regional Youth Circuit in San Francisco this weekend. It was a very good tournament, great experience and we brought home a few medals, too. Here are our fencers results: Y10 Women's sabre: Mary 1st (on the right in the picture) and Francesca 3rd (on the left in the picture). Y10 Men's sabre: Nicholas 7th.
