2010 Summer Camps with Olympic and World Champion Mihai Covaliu at LFC |

We are very excited to announce that Mihai Covaliu, Olympic and World Champion will be joining us again this summer for two weeks of intense training camps. *Only few spots are still available for this camp! Intermediate Camp: August 02 - 06. Please register for this camp on AskFred. Advanced Camp: August 09 - 13. Please register for this camp on AskFred. Our coach Nick Dinu and Mihai Covaliu have a very long relationship, going back to the first years of Mihai's fencing career, when Nick was his coach back in their native Romania. Mihai will be thrilled to share with our students his unique perspective on international fencing, as well as his insight on training for performance. In 2008, after winning his second Olympic medal in Beijing, Mihai retired from competitive fencing. He is now the head coach of the Romanian National team. His students are the current Men's Sabre World Champions! |

We want to congratulate all of our fencers who qualified and competed at the biggest event of the year, the Summer Nationals in Atlanta, GA! It was a good learning experience for everyone who travelled to the event. 
We also brought home 3 medals: Mary Barnett won gold in Y10 Women's Sabre and Danya Hu won silver in Div III Women's Sabre and finished 5th in Div II. Congratulations, girls! The final results are posted here. |

Many of our competitive fencers participated in the Sabre Marathon in Costa Mesa yesterday. It was a a good experience for our younger fencers, while our more experienced fencers dominated the event, LFC having 4 out of the 8 finalist.
Here are our finalists: Spencer Donavan - 2nd, Danya Hu - 3rd, Ian Jones - 6th, Scott Marquez - 8th. Congratulations to all of you! |

Danya won the Y14 event at the Bay Cup in San Carlos, CA over the weekend. She also won bronze in the Junior event and was a finalist in the Senior event. Congratulations, Danya! Complete results are posted on AskFred.
